General

If you are using Superbonder on the lashes, it is not essential to use the Nano Mister, as Superbonder will coat and seal the lashes. However, we recommend using both. The Nano Mister provides a soothing, refreshing finish for the client post-service. Together, they form an unbeatable duo that will have your clients raving about the incredible lash retention they've experienced since you started using these products.

Absolutely! Throughout the service, we frequently use our Glue-burator attachment to fan the lashes.

  1. Primer: After applying the primer, ensure you dry the lashes quickly to avoid any primer entering the client's eyes before starting the service.
  2. Superbonder/Nano Mister: Upon completing the lash set, give the glue a few minutes to cure before introducing Superbonder and the Nano Mister. Fanning during this period helps prevent any potential weakening of the bond.

Additionally, we employ our fan whenever a client's eyes water during the service or if they need to open their eyes, even briefly.

Absolutely! It's important to prime before fill services to ensure optimal retention. We prime all of our clients before any service, regardless of the type. By priming, we create a perfectly pH-balanced surface and remove any oils, dirt, or debris that could hinder the extensions from adhering properly to the natural lashes.

There are various reasons this might occur:

High Humidity: The adhesive may not be compatible with the current high humidity levels.

Cure Time: You might be working slower than the glue's cure time demands. This can cause the glue to begin curing before the lash is placed. This is especially common with clients who have difficult lashes, a significant natural lash lift, or an unfamiliar lash count. Such clients can slow down the process, making a slower-curing adhesive more suitable.

Placement: This issue often arises with new clients. Each client may need different placement techniques based on factors such as eye shape, natural lash lift, or curl. It may require some experimentation to perfect the placement for each new client.

There are various reasons this might occur:

High Humidity: The adhesive may not be compatible with the current high humidity levels.

Glue: It might be time for a new bottle of adhesive. It's possible that most of the cyanoacrylate (the bonding agent) has been used up, leaving you with the remaining components in the adhesive.

Residual Oils, Dirt, or Debris on Lashes: Oils, dirt, or debris on the natural lashes may interfere with adhesion. This emphasizes the importance of pre-service prep! Always cleanse with Lash Bath or Sensi Bath Cleanser, followed by Bond-Aid Primer before every service.

Glue

Un-opened Glue:
Keep your glue fresh for up to 6 months if stored in a cool, dry place. The ideal storage temperature is between 2-10°C.

Opened Glue:
Once opened, your glue will remain effective for 1-3 months, based on how it's stored, shaken, and handled.

Maintaining a consistent environment (both humidity and temperature) for your adhesive is crucial to avoid Shock Polymerization. Rapidly changing the glue's environment from cold and dry to warm and humid can severely impact its performance, making it goopy or less effective. To ensure your glue lasts as long as possible, consistency is key.

● Store your glue in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. The ideal temperature range is between 2-10ºC

● Ideally, store your glue in a designated container filled with a small amount of rice or 1-2 unopened silica gel packs. A Tupperware container can be a cost-effective alternative.

● Ensure your glue is always stored upright (never horizontally). Cyanoacrylate, the bonding agent, settles at the top of the container. Storing glue on its side can result in using more cyanoacrylate with each application, reducing the glue's lifespan and potentially causing reactions in clients.

● If you opt to store your glue in the fridge, avoid leaving it out on your station during services. Shake the glue, dispense a dot, and promptly return it to the fridge for later use.

The ideal relative humidity (RH) for each adhesive is specific to the glue type. For detailed information on your particular glue, please refer to the product description on our website. To learn more about the significance of RH and strategies for managing varying RH levels in your lash room, visit our website.

● Properly preparing the natural lashes before the service is crucial. Begin each session with a thorough cleanse using Lash Bath or Sensi-Bath, followed by a Primer (Bond-Aid) to remove oils, dirt, and debris. This creates a pH-balanced surface that enhances the bond between the natural lash and the extension.

● Follow the recommended storage conditions, relative humidity (RH), and temperature requirements for optimal performance.

● Regularly replace your adhesive bottle to maintain a strong bond, as older glue may compromise its effectiveness. We recommend using the adhesive within 1-3 months of opening. If the glue becomes tacky after shaking and your storage conditions are correct, it's best to replace it immediately.

● Select a glue that aligns with your service timing. Contrary to popular belief, using a faster cure time adhesive does not necessarily speed up the service. New or slower artists should start with a 3-4 second cure time adhesive. As your speed improves, gradually decrease the cure time by 0.5-1 second increments. Do not choose a faster cure time adhesive until you are confident in your speed. This ensures you have ample time to create a proper bond between the extension base and the natural lash, which is crucial. Some advanced artists may prefer a 2-4 second cure time adhesive even at expert levels, while others might find a 0.5-1 second cure time works best for them. Currently, we supply glue with a drying time of 1-1.5 seconds. We are looking to provide more options in the future.

To prevent your glue from clogging, always burp, clean, and wipe the nozzle with a dry glue wipe right after dispensing a dot. While burping, maintain continuous pressure on the bottle until the lid is fully closed. Interruptions in pressure can allow air into the nozzle, causing clogs. When not in use, the bottle should show a slight indentation where pressure was applied consistently.

Here are the recommended steps to prevent your glue from clogging:

● Store the glue in an upright position. If the adhesive is laid on its side, the bonding agent can enter the nozzle, increasing the likelihood of the glue curing inside the bottle when exposed to moisture upon opening.

● Make sure the bottle is tightly sealed between services to prevent air from entering the top.

● Properly burp your glue to prevent air bubbles and maintain optimal adhesive performance.

● Keep the glue bottle open only long enough to dispense your dot of glue. This prevents room moisture from partially curing the glue in the nozzle tip.

With every lash glue purchase, we provide a glue pin and a replacement nozzle. If your glue becomes clogged, use the glue pin to pierce the nozzle hole and clear the blockage. If this doesn't work, you may need to replace the entire nozzle. To do this, carefully remove the glue nozzle from the bottle using a nail or butter knife to release the nozzle tip. Once removed, replace it with the new glue nozzle.

Shaking your glue correctly is crucial. Instead of shaking it up and down, shake it from side to side. When the adhesive is shaken up and down, the cyanoacrylate, which settles at the top of the bottle, won't mix properly with the black components. Side-to-side shaking ensures the cyanoacrylate is evenly distributed throughout the bottle. If not shaken thoroughly, you may use up all the cyanoacrylate within the first few services.

We recommended the times for shaking the glue as below:

By Hand: Shake the glue for up to 5 minutes for the first use, and then for 2 minutes before each subsequent use.

With Glue-burator: Shake the glue for 10-20 seconds for the first use, and then for 5-10 seconds before each subsequent use.

Typically, thick and sticky glue is a result of incorrect storage, inadequate shaking, or the glue reaching its expiration date. However, before discarding the glue, check your humidity levels. It's possible that the glue itself is still usable, but the portion you placed out for your client may have been affected by humidity issues.

Acrylates, the primary component in adhesives, cure when exposed to moisture. If your lash room lacks sufficient moisture, the glue may take longer to cure. Conversely, if there is too much moisture, the adhesive may cure too quickly, weakening the bond. It is crucial to understand the glue you are using and operate within its ideal temperature and humidity range to achieve consistent results and optimal retention. The ideal range will vary depending on the specific components of the glue. Make sure to read the product information to choose a glue compatible with your lashing environment, or learn how to adjust your temperature and humidity to suit your chosen adhesive.

While adjusting your environment to suit your glue is the most reliable method for ensuring consistent results, we understand that maintaining a consistent environment isn't always feasible. Here are some quick fixes to help your glue cure faster:

Prime the Lashes
Bond-Aid Primer is a versatile product that cleanses the lashes of dirt, oils, and debris, creates a pH balanced surface to encourage a strong bond, and speeds up the cure time. Apply Bond-Aid to the natural lashes before all lash services.

Apply Foreplay product on the lash strip
Foreplay helps combat humidity and temperature fluctuations in lashing environments. Apply it directly to the lash strip before use to assist with any form of handmade fanning.

Utilize a Nano Mister during the service
Increased moisture helps any adhesive cure faster. A Nano Mister allows you to spray a controlled amount of mist to aid in the curing process. Although effective, it should be used sparingly and as directed. During the service, if you need to expedite the curing time, hold the Nano Mister about 30 centimeters away from the client's face to prevent shock curing. If you notice the glue at the base of the extensions turning white, it indicates over-moisturizing and shock curing has occurred. Use less of the Nano Mister for the remainder of the service.

Apply a few small dots of water to the eye pad while working
The added moisture from the water droplets will accelerate the glue's curing time. Begin with just a few dots to see if it makes a difference. You can always add more until you find the optimal amount for your working speed and lashing environment.
